- Additional Info: Music On The Move: Created and hosted by rising Country singer/songwriter Erin McLendon, Music on The Move (formerly Women on Fire) serves as a pivotal platform for local female musicians and entrepreneurs to share their talents. Backed by the all-female band The HellCals, and featuring locally and female-owned small businesses, the event has become a unique celebration of the female entrepreneur in Nashville! McLendon, the driving force behind Music on The Move Studios, was inspired by all of the talented women who dont get enough credit in Nashville. I wanted to create a collaborative space that wasnt just country or pop; I wanted to have something that is open to all genres, McLendon says.Having taken many forms since its inception in 2019, Music on The Move is proud to have been featured at iconic venues such as Exit/In, Marathon Music Works, City Winery, The Basement East, and now 3rd & Lindsley! Since the pandemic, Music on The Move Studios has evolved into a musical ecosystem, encapsulating not only the all-female showcase but also a virtual music education studio, a podcast, Paradox Jukebox, and a daily blog. Co-Founders Erin McLendon & Caitie Thompson strive to find ways to lift the veil on the music industry in all aspects. From the aspiring musician, to the behind the scenes of the business side, all the way to the pros!————-A Special Tribute to Larysa JayeLarysa Jaye was an incredibly talented country singer/songwriter who first came to the Music on The Move community in 2021 when she performed with the HellCats at City Winery during our socially distanced acoustic shows. She then went on to become a force in Nashville, advocating for diversity and inclusion in country music through her music and involvement in The Recording Academy, Country Musics OnRamp program, Black Music Action Coalition, and the Black Opry. She was the first black woman to earn a residency on a Broadway stage, performing every Friday at the 12/30 club. Larysa unfortunately passed unexpectedly in December of 2024 in a car accident. We want to honor the legacy she left behind by continuing to support her music with a performance by some of her friends and former Music on The Move performers, Lauren Anderson, Katie Basden, and Jenny Teator.
